So, I’ve been working with this metal-band called Nighon for a while now, as their sound and mixing engineer, and finally their debut album “Cor Oblivionis” will be released by Univocal Music. It’s been a long time waiting and I’m really excited that the rest of the world will finally get to hear it. Personally I think it’s a really great album and I’m very proud of the final result.
There will be a hang-out at Black Sheep Pub & Terrace in Jakobstad on December 27th, and the album will be played from around 10 pm. So swing by and get your copy!
On October 7th Datle Quintet released their debut studio recording in the form of an EP. It’s four really great songs, performed by a fantastic group, and I got the honor of doing the final mastering for the EP.
The EP can be ordered from the Univocal Music webshop, or if you are in Jakobstad you can visit Centrum – den lilla saluhallen on Köpmansgatan 18, where Univocal Music sell a lot of cool music and merch.
I’ve recently been working as mixing-engineer and co-producer on the new album “QuantumX” by Swedish symphonic metal-band Celestial Decay, and as the album is pretty much done a teaser-video has been released on YouTube, with a cover of a pretty well-known old classic; Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart”. I’m really satisfied with the results and the album will be released on The Music Alliance later this year. I think we are all really excited for the release.
If you watch until the end there is also a medley of the other songs from the album.
Between 2007-2009 I was studying sound-engingeering in Lappfjärds Folkhögskola, and during that time I took the opportunity to record my first EP of some of my own songs. Although my feelings towards the result may have changed a bit since then, I remember I was really proud of it at the time and many nights were spent recording and tweaking the sounds in studio LaFo. When it finally got finnished it ended up on MySpace and pretty much forgotten soon after. Now, 4-5 years later I decided to share it with the world again by offering it for free to download through this website. Even though I probably would have done things differently today (and I like to think that my vocals have improved) I decided not to change anything. It’s still a part of my own history as a songwriter/producer/musician and this EP was an important step for me in my journey learning to produce and record music, which I’m still on and forever will be. I was (and still am) really influenced by 70’s progressive rock and I think that really shines through in these recordings.
You can download the EP in the Music-section, just scroll down to the bottom of that page.
I’m really happy to announce that finnish prog-rockers Porcelain Moon (a band I was previously a part of), have finally released the new EP “Swan Song”. The album contains four songs (a total of about 27 minutes) in, what I would call, a pretty classic but freshly interpreted progressive rock-style. The recordings goes back to a time when I was still playing in the band, so you will also hear my guitar-wailing on the album. I also took care of the mixing, co-writing and co-producing.
