I recently recorded and mixed a concert by the soul-band The Napkins, during their gig at the Spotlight festival in Jakobstad, from which two songs can be heard on lead-singer Charlotta Kerbs’ soundcloud-page, and a few songs were also played in an interview on Radio Vega. I really love this band. Great songs and wonderful musicians. They have a really cool sound. Check out the songs below, and if it sounds interesting you can also have a look at vocalist Charlotta’s website: www.charlottakerbs.com.
Their last gig at Jeppis Music & Arts in Jakobstad was also recorded, and it sounds great. So, stay tuned and eventually you may also get to hear that as well 🙂
I’m really happy to announce that finnish prog-rockers Porcelain Moon (a band I was previously a part of), have finally released the new EP “Swan Song”. The album contains four songs (a total of about 27 minutes) in, what I would call, a pretty classic but freshly interpreted progressive rock-style. The recordings goes back to a time when I was still playing in the band, so you will also hear my guitar-wailing on the album. I also took care of the mixing, co-writing and co-producing.
I just finished my latest song “Hold on strong”, which is another of those home demo recordings I’m working on. Since I love orchestral sounds, I wanted to make a rock song with orchestral arrangements, and this is it.
I recorded the drums in my university’s studio, and thank’s to Robin Carlheim-Müller for the engineering. The rest is done in my apartment, which I think works pretty well despite the circumstances. It’s all about learning to work with what you have. Of course, since I don’t have access to a real string and brass orchestra, I’ve used sampled sounds on this one. Needless to say, it’s one of my biggest dreams to one day be able to work with a real orchestra. Maybe I’ll get there someday.
